Aspex UK are looking for an experienced and commercially minded Ironmongery Department Manager.

This is a hands-on management role with responsibility for the day-to-day operation, commercial performance and continued development of the department. We are looking for someone who understands the ironmongery and architectural hardware market and can combine product knowledge, commercial judgement and strong people-management skills.

Established in 2006, Aspex UK are one of UK’s leading manufacturers and suppliers of architectural solutions doorsets, risers, ironmongery and access control. We work on projects nationwide supplying UK’s top hotels, high-rise build-to-rent apartments, student accommodations to universities, and hospitals.

Take overall responsibility for the day-to-day running of the ironmongery department

Lead, motivate and develop the department team

Set clear objectives and monitor sales, margin, service and operational performance

Ensure customers receive a consistently high level of service

Develop and implement plans to increase sales and profitability

Support the team with complex quotations, tenders and major projects

Work closely with other departments across Aspex UK to ensure a joined-up customer experience

Manage relationships with key ironmongery and architectural hardware suppliers.

Negotiate pricing, terms, rebates and commercial agreements where appropriate

Review the product range and make recommendations on new, replacement or discontinued products

Keep up to date with new products, legislation, standards and industry developments

Proven experience within ironmongery, architectural hardware, builders' merchants, construction products or a closely related sector

Knowledge of ironmongery products and their applications

Strong leadership and people-management skills

Excellent customer-service and communication skills
